Koh Dam
Visible from Ao Nang beach, Koh Dam is the closest island to the mainland within our suggested itineraries. Koh Dam literally translates to mean Chicken Island, and as soon as you see the large, unusual rock protruding upwards from the end of the island, you will see why.
Aside from its 'chicken head', the island is also popular for tourists due to its 'hidden beach', a long peninsular of white sand, which is only visible when the tide is low. When the tide is high, there are two beautiful beaches to choose from, one on this island and one on a neighbouring island.
There are approximately 10 smaller islands surrounding Koh Dam, creating a beautiful scene of rocks and vegetation rising from the emerald waters of The Andaman Sea.
This island is ideally located to form part of a transfer cruise between Krabi and Koh Lanta. If you're staying on Koh Lanta, a pick up can be arranged from Krabi airport to take you to Koh Lanta in style. It's also a great spot for swimming and snorkelling, learning to sail or watching the sunset.

Chicken Head
This island is ideally located to form part of a transfer trip between Krabi and Koh Lanta. A cruise around the island gives you great views on the chicken head shaped tower, as well as the lime stone cliffs that protrude dramatically from the dense green copse covering the island. Watch the sun setting scenically behind the silhouette of the Koh Yawasam pinnacles.
Secret Beach
A small strip of fine white sand only appears at low tide, building a natural bridge to the island. A shallow corral reef can be reached from here and invites to observe the marine life by snorkelling in clear enough waters.

Sailing Seasons
From November to April during the northeast monsoon the anchorages here are protected and the weather is usually calm and sunny.
From May through October the region is exposed to the southwest monsoon.
